Summary

The review of these unit standards was initiated through their scheduled review to ensure they are fit for purpose, relevant, and reflect the requirements of the outcomes of the Manu Taiko - Toro Parirau (Kaupae 4) [Ref: 2426] qualification.

Meetings with Māori Governance Whakaruruhau were held September 2014 and July 2015 identifying the required content, then compared this content against existing unit standards.  Any identified changes were made to the unit standards to reflect this. Draft standards were published on the NZQA website and stakeholders were invited to submit feedback.

All changes were endorsed by stakeholders and the Māori Governance Whakaruruhau.

·      Changes in levels and credits were made to unit standards 21652, 21654, 21660 and 21653

·      Changes to purpose statements, explanatory notes, outcomes, evidence requirements, and range statements were made to ensure clarity for users.
