NZQA Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) has extended the expiry date of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
In 2012, these unit standards were reviewed and designated Category D expiring as part of a review of standards in the Tikanga subfield. The unit standards were initially designated to expire on 31 December 2012, but in October 2012 this date was extended to 31 December 2015.
MQS has received a request that the last date for assessment against these unit standards be extended to enable completion of the National Diploma in Hauora (Māori Health) (Level 6) [Ref: 1657] past the end of 2015. This is because these unit standards contribute to Elective A of the qualification (at minimum of 37 credits at Level 4 or above).
Extending the last date for assessment for these unit standards maintains the achievability of the national diploma, until it is replaced and expires.
The mandatory review of the Hauora qualifications is currently underway. Once the mandatory review of the Hauora qualification(s) has been completed, these unit standards will be reviewed in light of the new qualification(s), and as providers develop programmes that lead to the award of New Zealand qualifications.
