NZQA Māori Qualifications Services MQS has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published November 2015
Planned review date December 2019
Summary
The review of these unit standards was initiated through their scheduled review and the Targeted Review of Qualifications (TRoQ) for Environment Māori qualifications.
The unit standards were reviewed to ensure that they are fit for purpose, relevant, and align to graduate profile outcomes of the new Whenua and Environment Māori Qualification – Te Hiringa o te Taiao (Kaupae 4) [Ref: 2346], and Rumakihia te Taiao (Kaupae 6) [Ref:2347].
The standards were reviewed by Whakaruruhau over four hui held in 2014 and 2015. All amendments to the standards were endorsed by stakeholders and the Environment Māori and Whenua Whakaruruhau.
The Environment Maori/Whenua Whakaruruhau consider most of these unit standards should be expired as they are now no longer `fit for purpose'. The content of the unit standards has been incorporated into either existing or new unit standards.
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B reviewed standards is 31 December 2017. Results will not be accepted where the assessment date is after the last date for assessment of superseded versions of the standard.
Main changes
· Unit standards 6150, 15979, 15995, 15998, 20317, and 20323 were designated as expiring and will not be replaced.
· Information in the explanatory notes in unit standards 20318 and 20324 that was no longer relevant was removed.
