Competenz has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
The unit standards were reviewed alongside the mandatory review of the Paint Manufacturing qualifications, which is part of the Targeted Review of Qualifications for the Manufacturing sector.
With the alignment of standards against the new qualifications, there has been significant change to unit standard credits in order to more correctly reflect the amount of time for learning and assessment to take place. These changes have been endorsed by a representative of the New Zealand Paint Manufacturers Association Inc.
Standard 20289 was replaced by five new standards to cover knowledge of paint resins, emulsions, pigments, extenders and solvents separately.
The levels for standards 20287, 20288 and 20296 were changed to better align with the NZQF level descriptors.
The credit values of standards 20291, 20294, 20295, 20297 and 26284 were amended.
Standard 20296 had its title changed.
Standards 20288, 20292, 20295, 20296, 26284 and 26285 had content changed for currency.
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of reviewed standards is 31 December 2016.
