The Fire and Rescue Services Industry Training Organisation (trading as EMQUAL) has reviewed the mandatory review of the qualifications listed above.
The Skills Organisation took over the Qualification Developer and Standard Setting role in 2015 and saw this review through to completion.
Summary of Review and Consultation Process
The Community and Workplace Fire and Emergency Management qualifications have been reviewed as part of the Targeted Review of Qualifications (TRoQ) process. This review included extensive consultation with industry stakeholders, who acted as members of: review working groups, the industry technical advisory group, or the review governance group. Through this process it was confirmed there is no need for qualifications in this area, and their expiry was endorsed.
Main changes resulting from the review
The Community and Workplace Fire and Emergency Management qualifications will be expired.

The last date for entry into programmes leading to the replaced qualifications is 31
December 2017. The last date for award of the replaced qualifications is 31 December
2019, at which time they will be designated as discontinued.
