Review of Glass and Glazing and Automotive Reglazing Qualifications
The Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO) has completed the review of the qualifications listed above.
Replacement qualifications

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2020.
Summary of review and consultation process
The review occurred as a result of the mandatory review of Glass and Glazing qualifications, part of the Targeted Review of Qualifications (TRoQ) – Allied Trades. The review involved extensive communications, consultation, meetings, working group activities and feedback with stakeholders.
Industry and other stakeholders confirmed the need for the three Glass and Glazing Qualifications and one Automotive Reglazing Qualifications to provide appropriate knowledge and skills for those working in the industry.
The existing national qualifications have been replaced by a New Zealand qualification as detailed below.

Transition
The final date of enrolment for programmes leading to the replaced qualifications is 31 December 2017. The final date for assessment against the replaced qualifications is 31 December 2020. People currently enrolled in programmes leading towards these qualifications may either complete that version of the qualification by the date specified or transfer to the replacement qualifications.
All new trainees from 2018 will be enrolled in programmes leading to a New Zealand qualification.
It is not intended that anyone be disadvantaged by this review. However, anyone who feels they have been disadvantaged can appeal to BCITO at the contact details below.
