The Community Support Services ITO Limited (Careerforce) has completed the review of the unit standard listed above.
Date new versions published January 2016
Planned review date December 2021
Summary
The review of the unit standard was prompted by feedback that the explanatory note imposed an unintended barrier to achievement. The unit standard is widely used by people who only provide support to one person. This created a significant barrier as the trainee could not achieve the unit standard requirements.
The current unit standard was reviewed to remove this barrier while ensuring that it remained fit for purpose.
Consultation on the changes was carried out with key sector representatives to seek feedback and endorsement during assessment development.
Main changes
· Explanatory Note (EN) 5 was removed. The EN specified that evidence is required for two clients with a different health or functional status.
· Title, outcomes, and evidence requirements were amended from plural to singular to reflect the change.
