Competenz has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published January 2016
Planned review date December 2020
Summary
As a result of the Targeted Review of Qualifications process, Competenz has reviewed these unit standards to better reflect the requirements of the outcomes recognised in new Rail Operations qualifications and to reflect the operational requirements of new rolling stock introduced to the electrified rail network.
Meetings with subject matter experts were conducted, which identified the required content and compared this content against existing unit standards. It was identified that three existing unit standards required changes and four new unit standards were required. Drafts of each unit standard were circulated, and industry and providers were invited to submit feedback. All changes have been endorsed by industry.
Main changes
· Level of unit standard 18874 was adjusted to provide a better match with the Level Descriptors.
· The credits of unit standards 18874 and 19386 were increased to better reflect the time required for learning and assessment.
· Outcomes, evidence requirements and range statements were adjusted to reflect new rolling stock and operational requirements.
· Entry information was adjusted on two unit standards to reflect industry need and the development of new unit standards.
· As the result of the Targeted Review of Qualifications process four new unit standards were developed to align the skills required for driving Electric Multiple Unit trains to the graduate profile outcomes in the new qualifications
