Summary of review and consultation process

These qualifications were excluded from the review in January 2015 that followed the development and listing of the New Zealand qualifications in Business, pending the possibility of further development.  This further development has not eventuated.

The National Diploma in Business (Small Business Management) [Ref: 0173] has not been awarded since 2010. This qualification has been discontinued.

The only TEO to have awarded the National Certificate in Quality Management [Ref: 0369] more than once has expressed no further interest in it.  This national qualification will therefore be designated as expiring, without replacement.

Main changes resulting from the review

• Qualification [Ref: 0173] has been discontinued immediately.

• Qualification [Ref: 0369] will expire 31 December 2018.

Transition

The National Diploma in Business (Small Business Management) [Ref: 0173] has been discontinued immediately without transition arrangements, due to the absence of current or anticipated enrolments.

Candidates currently working towards the National Certificate in Quality Management [Ref: 0369] will need to complete that qualification before the last date for assessments below.

The last date for entry into programmes leading to [Ref: 0369] is 31 March 2017.

The last date for assessments to take place for [Ref: 0369] is 31 December 2018.

It is not intended that any existing candidates are disadvantaged by this review.  However, anyone who feels disadvantaged should contact the standard setter at:

Key to Qualification Review Categories

Category A The qualification is published as a new version with the same NZQF ID	Changes are made to SSB name, contact details or purpose statement

Category B The qualification is published as a new version with the same NZQF ID	Changes are made to title, rules or components
	The new version of the qualification recognises a similar skill set to that recognised by the previous version
