Revision of Infrastructure works qualifications

National Certificate in Civil Plant Operation with strands in Culverts and Drainage Systems, Earthworks, Road Construction, and Road Maintenance (Level 3) [Ref: 1325]

National Certificate in Civil Construction Works (Horizontal Directional Drilling) with strands in Driller, Tracker, and Site Supervisor [Ref: 1480]

National Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 2) with optional strands in Earthworks, Pavement Surfacing, Roads, Rural Contracting, and Utilities [Ref: 1660]

The Infrastructure ITO has completed a revision of the qualifications listed above to extend the last date of entry (enrolment) from 31 December 2015 to 31 December 2016.

New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 2) [Ref: 2522]

New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Level 3) [Ref: 2523]

New Zealand Certificate in Civil Works (Level 4) with strands in Earthworks, Road Construction, Concrete (non-structural), and Road Maintenance [Ref: 2688]

New Zealand Certificate in Pipe Installations (Level 4) with strands in Trenched, and Trenchless [Ref: 2694]

New Zealand Certificate in Utilities Maintenance (Level 4) with strands in Water, and Wastewater and Stormwater [Ref: 2695]

Main changes resulting from the revision

The following changes were made:

• The last date for enrolment into programmes leading to Ref: 1325, 1480, and 1660 is extended from 31 December 2015 to 31 December 2016.
• The last date of assessment for Ref: 1660 is 31 December 2017.
• The transition and republication information in Refs: 2522, 2523, 2688, 2694 and 2695 has been updated to reflect the changes made to the national qualifications as outlined above.

People currently working towards any of these expiring national qualifications may either complete the requirements for that qualification or transfer their results to replacement qualifications.
