Review of Electrical Equipment qualifications
National Certificate in Electrical Equipment (Level 2) [Ref: 1298]
National Certificate in Electrical Equipment (Level 3) [Ref: 1469]
The Skills Organisation (Skills) has completed the review of the qualifications listed above.
Summary of review and consultation process
As part of the mandatory reviews of qualifications in Electrotechnology and in Retail, it was agreed that the needs of learners, who would otherwise be undertaking electrical equipment qualifications, are best addressed and supported by New Zealand qualifications developed within the suite of retail qualifications. Both reviews encompassed broad consultation with industry and tertiary education organisation stakeholders to ensure that the new qualifications meet current and future needs.
The reviews resulted in the recommendation that the Electrical Equipment qualifications be superseded (but not directly replaced) by the New Zealand retail qualifications, in order to meet stakeholder needs. As these qualifications have been published, the national qualifications were discontinued immediately.
The New Zealand retail qualifications include:
New Zealand Certificate in Retail (Customer Service and Sales Support) (Level 2) [Ref: 2234]
New Zealand Certificate in Retail (Level 3) [Ref: 2235]
New Zealand Certificate in Retail (Level 4) [Ref: 2236].
