The Primary ITO has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary

As a result of the Targeted Review of Qualifications process, Primary ITO has reviewed a number of unit standards to better reflect the requirements of the outcomes listed in new qualifications.  Primary ITO has also developed a number of new units to meet industry need and reflect the outcomes listed in the new qualifications.  Many of the new Level 2 units have been developed to create a stepped pathway from Level 2 to Level 3.

Key stakeholders and organisations with consent to assess have had the opportunity to review these units and offer feedback.  This consultation was through an online survey which ran for three weeks in early 2016.  All feedback was actioned where appropriate.

Main changes

· Six unit standards have been reviewed and marked as Category B.  Two of these unit standards (10952 and 21212) have also been reclassified into domain Production Horticulture. 

· Eight unit standards have been replaced by new unit standards. These unit standards have been marked as Category C.

· 22 new unit standards have been written.

Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2020
