NZQA Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
The review of these unit standards was initiated through their scheduled review and the Targeted Review of Qualifications (TRoQ) for Ngā Toi qualifications.
The unit standards were reviewed to ensure they are fit for purpose and relevant.
All amendments to the unit standards were endorsed by the Whakaruruhau.
Main changes
· Grading criteria were added to unit standards 7879, 7882, 7886, 7906, and 7907 as an incentive to award ākonga for the quality of practical work produced.
· The titles of unit standards 7873, 7875, 7881, 7882, 7906, 7907 and 18689 were changed to better reflect the standards outcomes.
· Changes to the levels of unit standards 7908 and 7886 were made to better reflect the complexity of the evidence required.
· Credit value for standards 7875, 7881, 7886, 7906, 7907, and 7908 were made in line with amendments made to the standards or to better reflect the time required for teaching, learning and assessment.
· Explanatory notes were updated, and those that were no longer relevant and/or seen as barriers to assessment were removed;
· Amendments were made to some evidence requirements and range statements to ensure they were consistent with the requirements in the outcomes.
· Unit standards 7867, 7883, 7905 and 18689 were replaced.
· A new Level 1 unit standard, 29531, was developed for the Raranga domain.
· Unit standard 7906 was reclassified from the Tāonga Tākaro domain, to the Raranga domain.
· The Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR) reference on unit standard 7908 was changed to CMR 0226 (Base Scope of Assessment for Schools (BSAS)).
Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2018
