Summary
The review of the unit standards above was carried out in order to ensure that they continue to be fit for purpose.
Consultation on the changes was carried out with key stakeholders.
Main changes
· The outcomes of six of the reviewed standards were amalgamated into two theory standards to provide more coherent groupings of knowledge.
· New standard 29548 replaced standards 26730, 26732, 26734, and 26736.
· New standard 29547 replaced standards 26731 and 26733
· Areas of reported duplication were clarified or removed.
· Terminology and language was amended to enable assessment against current and future protocols and equipment.
· Purpose statements, explanatory notes, outcomes, evidence requirements and range statements were amended.
· The level and credit value for standard 26735 were both reduced to reflect the move to a single set of equipment and associated lessened maintenance requirements.
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of the standards is 31 December 2018. Results will not be accepted where the assessment date is after the last date for assessment of superseded versions of the standards.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2018
