The Skills Organisation (Skills) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published June 2016
Planned review date December 2021
Summary
Skills worked with the Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) sector to develop ARFF related programme outlines in response to the listing of the following New Zealand qualifications. This led to the review of all the unit standards in the above domain.
These qualifications are:
· New Zealand Certificate in Fire and Rescue Services (Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting) (Level 3) [Ref: 1837]
· New Zealand Certificate in Fire and Rescue Services (Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting) (Level 4) [Ref: 1838]
· New Zealand Certificate in Emergency Response (Level 2) with strands in Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting, Civil Defence Emergency Management, Urban Fire and Rescue Operations, and Workplace Response (Level 2) [Ref: 3021].
Regarding Ref: 3021, the review anticipated a programme relating only to the ARFF strand. Review of other fire, rescue, and emergency response unit standard domains is expected in the future, once the remaining fire, rescue, and emergency response sectors’ major stakeholders have clarified their common aims. In the meantime the ARFF sector has expressed a clear vision of its training and qualification programme needs.
