Summary

As a result of the Targeted Review of Qualifications process, Primary Industry Training Organisation (Primary ITO) has reviewed a number of unit standards from the Pest Management domain to better reflect the requirements of the Graduate Profile Outcomes in the new New Zealand Certificate in Pest Operations (Level 3) [Ref: 2443].

Meetings with subject matter experts were conducted to identify the required content and review the content of existing unit standards. It was identified that the reviewed unit standards should be replaced by new unit standards with broader overarching objectives.

Since this development, key stakeholders have had the opportunity to review the new standards and offer feedback.

Main changes

·         18 unit standards were replaced by five new unit standards.

·         Two new unit standards were developed to meet the industry and graduate profile outcome requirements.

Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2018
