Review of Horticulture qualification

New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture Production (Level 4) with strands in Fruit Production, Indoor Production, Outdoor Vegetable Production, Nursery Production, Post-Harvest (Level 4) [Ref: 2676]

Summary of review and consultation process

Whilst developing programmes leading towards the qualification listed above, it was decided that that credit values for the Outdoor Vegetable Production strand were too high.

The decision to reduce the credits for this strand was made in consultation with the Primary ITO Outdoor Vegetable Industry Partnership Group.

All providers with consent to assess Horticulture at Level 4 were informed of this change and given the opportunity to express concern/give feedback.

Main changes resulting from the review

Graduate Outcome 9 was reduced from 50 to 35 credits.

The overall credits for the Outdoor Vegetable Production strand were reduced from 175 to 160 credits.
