The Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO) has completed the revision and rollover of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
The BCITO has revised the Levels 1 and 2 Building, Construction, and Allied Trades Skills (BCATS) unit standards in order to reflect changes made by Standards New Zealand and the updated health and safety legislation and regulations, and to gain consistent standards.
Main changes resulting from the revision
· Out of date legislation, regulations, publications and references to them, have been updated.
· Headings and layouts were updated to reflect the change in wording of the unit standard template.
· Purpose statements, explanatory notes and formatting were updated for consistency.
· Definitions and explanatory notes of some standards were changed for consistency.
· Range statements of some standards were adjusted or removed to reduce repetition or ensure future proofing.
· A Last Date for Assessment of 31 December 2018 has been added to superseded versions of all unit standards where the review or registration date was 2008 or earlier.
· Examples of BCATS projects were removed from unit standards 25919 and 25920 to align with the explanation of a Stage 1 project in the proposed Level 1 BCATS qualification.
· The title of unit standard 24354 was changed for consistency with the definitions.
· The titles of unit standards 12935, 12937, 12939, 22129, and 24356 were changed to reflect the outcomes more accurately.
