Summary of review and consultation process

A new version of the New Zealand Certificate in Meat Processing (Level 4) with strands in Boning Operations, Grading, Meat Quality, Rendering, Slaughter and Dressing, and Optimising Meat Yields [Ref: 2496] has been published to split the Slaughter and Dressing strand into a Slaughter Floor Operations strand and a Dressing Operations strand. The intention of this change is to create greater flexibility for all meat processing companies.

These changes have been made in consultation with industry representatives. Version 1 of this qualification is still available and does not currently have a last date for assessment. The Primary ITO is confident that nobody will be disadvantaged by this change.
