NZ Hair and Beauty Industry Training Organisation Inc (HITO) has completed the review and revision of the standards listed above.

Summary
As part of the development of new qualifications for the beauty industry, HITO’s Beauty Advisory Group reviewed the standards listed above.
The review of these standards has resulted in new and replacement standards with updated outcomes and evidence requirements that reflect current industry practice, and align the required skills and knowledge with the Graduate Profile Outcomes in the proposed New Zealand qualifications for the beauty sector.
As part of the same development process, HITO’s Beauty Advisory Group revised four standards. These standards were revised to update entry information and legislative requirements.
The Advisory Group has endorsed the expiry of reviewed standards, the revision of existing standards and the development of new and replacement standards.
Main changes
· Eight standards were replaced by six new standards.
· Two standards were designated expiring.
· 11 new standards were developed.
· Four standards were revised.
· Entry information and legislation was updated.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2019
