Reason for the review
Review of the Retail Meat unit standards with an Industry Technical Advisory Group has resulted in the indicative credit values for a number of the Graduate Profile Outcomes needing to be revised.
New Zealand Certificate in Trade Butchery (Level 4) with optional strands in Carcass Breaking and Boning, Curing and Smoking, and Handcrafted Small Goods [Ref: 2972]

Main changes resulting from the revision
Version 2 of this qualification includes the following changes:
· Indicative credits for graduate profile outcomes 2, 3 and 6 have increased.
· Indicative credits for graduate profile outcome 5, 7 and 8 have decreased.
· The total credit value for this qualification has increased from 160 (185-215 with optional strands) to 180 (200-235 with optional strands).
Transition
As there are no existing enrolments or registered programmes, the last date of enrolment and assessment for version 1 of this qualification is 31 December 2017.
The original transition rules apply to the replaced national certificates.
