The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2022.
Summary of review and consultation process
The Aviation qualifications have been reviewed as part of their five-year cycle. The review involved extensive consultation with stakeholders working in and with the industry, most significantly the Aviation New Zealand Training and Development Division, and the Civil Aviation Authority. Consultation included meetings to discuss the need to review the qualifications, and subsequent meetings considered the proposed content of the qualifications.
As a result of structural changes to clarify strands and graduate outcomes, it was deemed necessary to register new (replacement) qualifications with new NZQF IDs.
The existing New Zealand qualifications have been replaced as detailed below.
