Summary
The review of these unit standards was initiated through their scheduled review and the Targeted Review of Qualifications (TRoQ) for Ngā Toi qualifications.
The unit standards were reviewed to ensure they are fit for purpose, relevant and that their outcomes are achievable and consistent with assessment practices.
All amendments to the unit standards were endorsed by the Whakaruruhau.
Main changes
· The title of unit standards 7869, 7870, 7871,7872, 7877, 18694, 7888, 27103, 7898, 7900, 7903, 7904 and 7890 were changed to better reflect the standards’ outcomes.
· Changes to the purpose statements, explanatory notes, outcomes and evidence requirements were made to ensure clarity for users.
· Changes to the levels of unit standards 7884, 7887, 7892, 7900, 7904 and 27103 were made to better reflect the complexity or simplicity of the evidence required.
· Credit values for standards 7869, 7870, 7871, 7872, 7876, 7877, 7890, 7898, 7900, 7903, 7904, 18692, 18693, 18698, 18700, 18701, 18703 and 27103 were made in line with amendments made to the standards or to better reflect the time required for teaching, learning and assessment.
· Unit standards 7868, 7880, 7895, 7896, and 15977 were designated expiring with no replacement standards.
· Three new standards were created for the Raranga domain.
· Two new standards were created for the Whāriki domain.
· Two new standards were created for the Whatu domain.
· Two standards from the Tāniko domain have been moved to the Whatu domain.
· A last date for assessment against the superseded versions of the Category B reviewed standards was specified. Results will not be accepted where the assessment date is after the last date for assessment of superseded versions of the unit standards.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2019.
