The Skills Organisation has republished the qualifications listed above.
Reason for the republication
Transition of the urban and rural fire fighting sectors into Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) had delayed the development of programmes leading to the latest versions of these qualifications.
To allow for continuity of training for these sectors in the meantime, programmes leading to earlier versions of the above qualifications need to be available for longer than was originally intended.
Main changes resulting from the republication
The last date for assessments to take place for earlier versions of these qualifications has been extended from 31 December 2019 to 31 December 2022.
The last date for assessment for the replaced and expiring New Zealand Certificate in Fire and Rescue Services with strands in Airport, Urban Fire and Rescue Operations, and Vegetation (Level 2) [Ref: 1833] has been extended from 31 December 2019 to 31 December 2022.
It is anticipated that no existing candidates will be disadvantaged by the extension of these dates arrangements. However, anyone who feels that they have been disadvantaged may appeal to The Skills Organisation at the address below:
