Summary

 

Some trainees for the New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage Service (Level 3) with strands in Café Services, Bar Services, Restaurant Services, Buffet Services, Functions Services, Barista, and Quick Service Restaurants Services [Ref: 2104] found it impossible to achieve the qualification owing to the deficiency of credits available for Fast Food Services cookery.  Also, a performance criterion was incorrect in standard 27959 and required amendment.

 

Consultation with major fast food enterprises took place and it was determined by the standard-setting body (SSB) that these changes should be made and a new standard be developed.

 

Main changes

 

·      Standard 30441 was developed.

·      The word “Raw” was removed from performance criterion 1.6 of standard 27959 and the range under the criterion was adjusted.
