National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrical Appliance and Electronic Servicing (Level 3) [Ref: 1265];
National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrical Appliance and Electronic Servicing) (Level 4) with strands in Commercial Electrical Appliances, Domestic Electrical Appliances, Electronic Consumer Goods, Office Equipment, and Portable Electrical Appliances and Power Tools [Ref: 1266];
National Certificate in Electronic Engineering (Level 3) [Ref: 1093]; and
National Certificate in Electronic Engineering (Level 4) [Ref: 1123].
The Skills Organisation has completed a republication of expiring qualifications to extend the last dates of entry for qualifications associated with the electronic engineering suite of qualifications to 31 December 2018 because of programme development delays. The extension is to ensure learners are not disadvantaged.
Replacement qualifications
New Zealand Certificate in Electrotechnology (Level 3) with strands in Installation and Service [Ref: 2767];
New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Installation and Service) (Level 4) with strands in Domestic Systems and Products, Commercial Equipment, and Consumer Electronics [Ref: 2768]; and
New Zealand Certificate in Electronic Engineering (Level 4) [Ref: 2981].

The last date for entry into the National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrical Appliance and Electronic Servicing (Level 3) [Ref: 1265]; National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Electrical Appliance and Electronic Servicing) (Level 4) with strands in Commercial Electrical Appliances, Domestic Electrical Appliances, Electronic Consumer Goods, Office Equipment, and Portable Electrical Appliances and Power Tools [Ref: 1266]; and National Certificate in Electronic Engineering (Level 3) [Ref: 1093], is 31 December 2018 and the last date for assessment remains at 31 December 2022.
The last date for entry into the National Certificate in Electronic Engineering (Level 4) [Ref: 1123] is 31 December 2018 and the last date for assessment remains at December 2020.
Transition
Existing trainees enrolled in the National qualifications can either complete the qualifications or transfer their results to the New Zealand qualifications.
It is anticipated that no existing candidates will be disadvantaged by these transition arrangements. However, anyone who feels that they have been disadvantaged may appeal to The Skills Organisation at the address below. Appeals will be considered on a case by case basis.
