Revision of Drilling Industry qualification

New Zealand Certificate in Drilling (Level 4) [Ref: 2622]

MITO has completed the revision of the qualification above.

The next qualification review is planned to take place during 2019.

Summary of review and consultation process

In consultation with stakeholders, MITO has revised the above qualification to better reflect the learning, training, and assessment time taken to achieve graduate outcomes. 

Main changes resulting from the review

Changes to structure and content

· The total qualification credits have decreased from 170 credits to 135 credits.

· The indicative credits for Graduate Profile Outcomes 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 have been decreased and the indicative credits for Graduate Profile Outcome 9 has been increased.

Transition

The last date of assessment for version 1 of this qualification is 31 December 2020.

People currently working towards version 1 of this qualification must complete its requirements or transfer to a programme of study or industry training leading to version 2 of the qualification by 31 December 2020.

It is anticipated that no existing candidates will be disadvantaged by these transition arrangements.  However, anyone who feels that they have been disadvantaged may appeal to MITO at the address below.  Appeals will be considered on a case by case basis.
