Summary
The review of unit standards 13377 and 27302 was prompted by the outcomes of the mandatory review of qualifications, specifically the listing of the New Zealand Certificate in Sport, Exercise, and Leisure Operations (Level 3) [Ref: 3225].
Current unit standards 13377 and 27302 were reviewed to check if they were still fit for purpose, relevant and aligned with outcomes listed in the new qualification. It was confirmed that 13377 and 27302 did not meet the future needs of industry and, therefore, were set to expire. A new set of unit standards was created to align with the graduate profile of the listed qualification.
Feedback from stakeholders was gathered through an open consultation process and used to guide the development of the industry training programme and the development and review of the associated unit standards.
Main changes
· Unit standard 13377 was replaced by unit standard 29848.
· Unit standard 27302 was designated expiring without replacement.
· Four new unit standards were developed.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2021.
