Summary

As a result of work carried out by MITO on the Targeted Review of Qualifications, unit standards from the Motor Industry subfield have been reviewed and revised.  These unit standards were reviewed using input from industry and provider representatives.  It was decided to set a date for 5 years for the next full review to take place.

Changes were made to the outcome statements, evidence requirements and range statements of the unit standards for clarity and to ensure alignment with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Main changes

·         Unit standard 24141 – the title, evidence requirements, and ranges were reviewed and updated to reflect current industry practice.  The level for the unit standard decreased from Level 5 to Level 4.

·         Unit standard 15410 – an outcome (element 4) was deleted, evidence requirements and ranges were reviewed and updated to reflect current industry practice.

·         Unit standard 24010 was revised to align the evidence requirements and ranges with assessment and industry requirements.

·         Unit standards 249 and 16113 expiry dates have been extended from December 2018 to December 2020.

·         A last date for assessment of superseded versions of the B category reviewed unit standards was specified (31 December 2018).  Results will not be accepted where the assessment date is after the last date for assessment of the superseded version of the standard.
