Planned review date                                                                           December 2021

The Māori Performance unit standards were revised and amended to address identified inconsistencies in wording.

References to “iwi tradition” and “iwi, and hapū tradition” were rewritten as “iwi, hapū, or whānau tradition” (as originally intended), to broaden the scope for assessment and not create any barriers to achievement.

In the two Haka wahine unit standards (13373 and 27698), there were inconsistencies in the explanatory notes, evidence requirements, and range statements, with the words “themes” and “categories” both referring to the same thing in each standard.

Main changes

·      Changes to explanatory notes and evidence requirements were made to ensure there are consistent references to “iwi, hapū, or whānau” across the set.

·      In unit standards 13373 and 27698 references to “themes” have been replaced by the word “categories”.
