Summary

The unit standards were reviewed and one new unit standard was written to align with the recently registered New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Building Services (Trade) (Level 4) [Ref: 2717] and to meet Competenz’ s ongoing unit standard review schedule.

The review was carried out in consultation with Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning industry technical experts and the changes were endorsed by the industry technical group.

Main changes

· Changes were made to unit standard titles, outcome statements, performance criteria, and range statements to clarify assessment requirements, remove duplication, and ensure alignment with current industry requirements. 

· Unit standards were modified to align with the revised NZQA guidelines.

· Credit values were adjusted where necessary to reflect the time required to acquire the skills and knowledge.

· New unit standard 30582 was developed.

· Last dates for assessment of the superseded versions of the Category B unit standards were specified.
