Summary

Following the review of qualifications in the Cranes sector, consultation with subject matter experts was held to review specific unit standards in the Crane Operation domain.  The reviewed unit standards have a relationship with the Approved Code of Practice for Cranes, as well as the New Zealand Certificates in Cranes and can continue to be used individually, as well as in programmes leading to award of the new qualifications.

Main changes

·      The level of unit standards 3794 and 24511 was increased from 3 to 4 to better reflect the skill level required.

·      Credit values were adjusted appropriately across the suite to more correctly reflect the time needed to achieve unit standard requirements.

·      Recently registered unit standard 30072 was named as a new prerequisite for unit standards 3789, 3800, 16617, 20208.

·      Unit standard 3800 is a new prerequisite for unit standard 3790, which has had its credit reduced to reflect the relationship.

·      Consent to assess is being extended to unit 30072 for all consent holders for 3789.

The last date for assessment of the most recently superseded version of Category B unit standards is December 2018
