NZQA National Qualifications Services has completed the review of the unit standards listed above. Unit standard 4098, in bold above, has been revised and rolled over.
Date new versions published September 2017
Planned review date (reviewed standards) 31 December 2022
Planned review date (unit standard 4098) 31 December 2018
Summary
A suite of seven Level 4 and Level 6 unit standards has been developed to support the following qualifications:
· New Zealand Certificate in Assessment Practice (Level 4) [Ref: 2752]
· New Zealand Certificate in Assessment (Advanced Practitioner) (Level 6) [Ref: 2753].
The standards in the suite align with the graduate profile outcomes in content and credit value. They include five newly developed standards, as well as two reviewed standards from the Assessment of Learning domain. An additional standard, 4098, was revised and rolled over as part of this process.
In tandem with this development process, a wider review of unit standards in Adult Education and Training and Generic Education and Training took place. The purpose of this review was to ensure existing standards remained fit for purpose.
The development and review were carried out from late 2016 through to mid-2017, by two expert panels comprising representation from Polytechnics, Private Training Establishments, Wānanga, Industry Training Organisations, and moderators. The new drafts of the standards were developed and circulated to a wider network for consultation. All consultation feedback was considered and actioned where appropriate.
Main changes
· One new Level 4 and four new Level 6 standards were developed to ensure there are sufficient standards for those who want to develop unit-standards-based programmes leading to qualifications [Ref: 2752] and [Ref: 2753].
· Unit standards 11281 and 18203 were designated Category C and replaced by two new unit standards respectively.
· Level 5 standards 7097, 7092, and 7112 were increased to Level 6 to better recognise the expected level of performance.
· Credit values for standards 7094, 7097, 7100, 7104, 7105, 7109, 7112, 7113, 7092, 7098, 20469, 20470, 25780, 25781, and 26009 were increased to better reflect the amount of work required by candidates and ensure parity with similar standards.
· Unit standard 4098 was rolled over until December 2018 to allow further consultation about its future to be carried out.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2020, except standard 11281, which will expire at the end of December 2021
