NZQA Māori Qualifications Services has completed the review, revision and development of the unit standards listed above. The standard that was reviewed is listed in bold above.
Date new versions published September 2017
Planned review date (new standards) December 2022
Summary
These changes were a result of the mandatory review of the Health and Disabilities, Social Services and Whānau Ora qualification and the subsequent listing of 11 mātauranga Māori qualifications on the NZQF December 2015.
The current and future skill and knowledge requirements of the sector were discussed at length with sector experts; and has informed the writing of these whānau ora unit standards that align to the New Zealand Certificates in Whānau Ora. Hui were held in December 2016, and in February and June 2017. The standards were endorsed by the newly formed Whānau Ora Whakaruruhau.
The Hauora Whakaruruhau was consulted to redevelop the ‘Hauora’ subfield. A new subfield, ‘Te Ara Hou ki te Ora’ has been created with two new domains ‘Hauora’ and ‘Whānau Ora’. Standards classified in the ‘Kaupapa Hauora’ and ‘Tikanga Hauora’ domains have been reclassified to the new ‘Hauora’ domain.
Main changes
· Ten new standards written and added to new ‘Whānau Ora’ domain;
· Unit standard 18566 was designated expiring and replaced by unit standard 30623.
The Category C unit standard will expire at the end of December 2018
