Summary

The Literacy and Numeracy unit standards were reviewed by NZQA National Qualifications Services in 2016-17 to update them and to enable organisations who piloted the Literacy and Numeracy Digital Evidence Tool (LiNDET) to record the results of their candidates.

An interim version of 26624 was approved and published, to enable assessments using a mix of LiNDET and naturally occurring evidence.  In these cases, assessments could not use the fully reviewed standards, whose changes they were not aware of.  The present revision inserts all the review changes and meets the full intention of the review.

An error in 26625 is corrected in this revision, making it clear that all performance criteria must be met in every interaction.

Main changes

· In 26624, changes to the performance criteria reflect the full intention of the review.

· In 26625, Guidance Information note 3 is amended to make it clear that all performance criteria must be met in every interaction.

· Guidance information notes and unit standard format have been aligned with the latest NZQA template.
