Summary

 

MITO has reviewed the unit standards listed above and developed new unit standards at the request of industry.

 

The unit standards were reviewed and developed to align with the automotive suite of qualifications at Level 3 and Level 4 on the NZQF.

 

This review has resulted in fit-for-purpose assessment content being made available to industry that reflects current legislation and industry practice.

 

MITO’s automotive industry working group endorsed the unit standard review.  The working group includes subject matter experts and representatives from industry, and MITO.  The unit standards were circulated in the working group’s greater networks and all feedback was actioned where appropriate.

 

Main changes

 

·      Reviewed unit standards were amended to reflect current legislation and regulatory requirements, industry practice and recommendations, and to clarify their intent.

·      Performance criterion 2.9 for unit standard 29580 was removed to avoid unnecessary restrictions on assessment due to licensing requirements.

·      Two new unit standards were developed.

 

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2020
