Reason for the republication

 

The National Qualifications listed above were reviewed during the Targeted Review of Qualifications and were replaced by New Zealand Qualifications.

 

The last date of enrolment and last date of assessment have been extended, with the support of industry stakeholders, to allow the replacement New Zealand Qualifications to be implemented after regulatory changes in the industry have been finalised.

 

The qualifications were also republished to include exemptions for expiring and expired unit standards to allow the qualifications to be completed up to the last date of assessment.

 

Main changes resulting from the republication

 

National Certificate in Extractive Industries (Operations) (Level 3) with strands in Coal Plant, Drilling Surface, Drilling Underground, Maintenance Operations, Metalliferous Processing, Mobile Plant Surface, Processing Plant, Surface Extraction, Underground Extraction, and Water Treatment [Ref: 1521]

 

The last date of entry (enrolment) for the qualification listed above was extended from 31 December 2018 to 31 December 2019.  The last date of assessment was extended from 31 December 2020 to 31 December 2021. 

 

 

This qualification includes the following standards that have expired and were not replaced: 1754, 14960, 14961 and 14962.  These standards are no longer available to meet the requirements of the Elective sections of the qualification.

 

This qualification also includes expiring standard 21154 in an Elective section.  People who wish to use this standard to meet the requirements of the Elective section will need to gain credit for the standard before it expires on 31 December 2020.

 

This qualification contains other expired and expiring unit standards for which exemptions have been provided to allow the standards to be used towards the requirements of the qualification up to the last date of assessment.

 

For the purpose of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the replacement standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the expired or expiring standards – see table below.

This qualification contains expiring unit standards it its core compulsory section.  Exemptions have been provided to allow the qualification to be completed up to the last date of assessment.

 

For the purpose of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the replacement standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the expiring standards – see table below.

The last date of entry (enrolment) for the qualification listed above has been extended from 31 December 2018 to 31 December 2019.  The last date of assessment has been extended from 31 December 2020 to 31 December 2021. 

 

This qualification contains expiring unit standard 21154 in its compulsory section. This standard must be achieved before it expires on 31 December 2020.

The last date of entry (enrolment) for the qualification listed above has been extended from 31 December 2018 to 31 December 2019.  The last date of assessment has been extended from 31 December 2020 to 31 December 2021. 

 

This qualification contains expiring unit standards.  Exemptions have been provided to allow the qualification to be completed up to the last date of assessment.
