Summary

The unit standards were reviewed and new unit standards were written to align with the recently registered New Zealand Certificate in Locksmithing (Trade) (Level 4) [Ref: 2718] and to meet Competenz s ongoing unit standard review schedule.

The review was carried out in consultation with locksmithing industry technical experts and the changes were endorsed by the industry technical group.

Main changes

·         Changes were made to outcome statements, performance criteria, and range statements to clarify assessment requirements, remove duplication, and ensure alignment with current industry requirements.  Unit standards were modified to align with the revised NZQA guidelines.

·         Credit values were adjusted where necessary to reflect the time required to acquire the skills and knowledge.

·         Unit standard 12919 was replaced by new unit standards 30967 and 30968.

·         Unit standard 22452 was replaced by new unit standards 30971 and 30972.

·         Unit standard 22453 was replaced by new unit standards 30965, 30969, and 30970

·         Seven other new unit standards were developed.

·         Last dates for assessment of superseded versions of the standards were added.

Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022
