Competenz has completed the revision of the unit standard listed above.

It was unclear in version 1 of the unit standard as to the number of meat types required to be assessed for competency.  This was restricting the ability of some learners to achieve the unit standard so it was amended to specify one meat type.


Main changes


·      Changes to the Definitions and Range in the Guidance Information section to clarify the definition of meat, and specify one meat type to be minced.

·      Minor change to wording in Performance Criterion 1.2.

·      Legislation was updated to replace the repealed Sale of Goods Act 1908 with Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017, and delete the Food (Safety) Regulations, both of which were revoked in 2017.

·      A last date of assessment of 31 December 2018 was added for version 1.
