ServiceIQ has completed the review and reinstatement of the unit standards listed above.  Standards in bold above, have been reinstated.

Summary

 

Nine unit standards in the Accommodation Services domain were incorrectly designated Level 2 when Level 3 was appropriate, owing to the large amount of self-responsibility with minimal supervision required for the completion of this work.  It was further noted that two expiring standards would be ideally suited to programmes for Hospitality qualifications, if they were also set at an appropriate level.

 

The credits of some standards required adjustment, as did the level of a standard in the Hospitality - Foundation Skills domain.  In addition, a gap was identified for Cookery programmes and a new standard was developed to address this.

 

Drafts of the standards were reviewed by a group of advisers supporting the development of Service Sector qualifications, who deemed the standards fit for purpose.

 

Main changes

 

·      The credits for five unit standards were increased to better reflect the time required for learning and assessment.

·      The Level of nine standards was increased to better reflect the requirements of the standards.

·      Unit standards 21207 and 21208 were reinstated with adjusted levels.

·      Guidance information for unit standards was updated.

·      Two new unit standards were developed.

 

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2020
