Summary of review and consultation process
The review occurred as a result of the mandatory review of qualifications, part of the Targeted Review of Qualifications (TRoQ).
Extensive consultation with stakeholders resulted in a recommendation that there was still a need for Level 1 and 2 qualifications and that the national qualifications listed above should be replaced by New Zealand qualifications. The review also confirmed the need for a new, Level 3 qualification to be added to the suite in order to meet the needs of final-year secondary school students and provide better preparation for their transition to work and further learning.
