Summary

The review of this standard resulted in the development of a new unit standard to align the content with current industry practice and to reflect industry feedback from the Crane Association of New Zealand Incorporated in regard to the exemption in the New Zealand Gazette, No. 104 – 24 September 2015.  

New unit standard 31245 allows for practical assessment in the workplace.  Unit standard 31245 is the recommended alternative for unit standard 30442.

Industry feedback from technical advisers and Civil Contractors New Zealand (CCNZ) was gathered through the consultation process.

Main changes

· Unit standard 30442 was designated expiring without replacement;

· Unit standard 31245 was developed to reflect current industry practice to allow for practical assessment in the workplace.

The Category D unit standard will expire at the end of December 2019
