Summary

Throughout 2017 and 2018, The Skills Organisation conducted a review of the unit standards listed above.

The review process included face-to-face meetings between The Skills Organisation and industry (including WorkSafe New Zealand, training providers and industry subject matter experts) to align these unit standards with the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.

The review group found that there were many unit standards that contained unnecessary duplication and overlap, which resulted in the development of one replacement set.

Main changes

· Six unit standards were reviewed and replaced.

· Unit standard 31292 was developed.

· Performance criteria were changed from passive to active voice.

· Levels and credits of the unit standards were allocated appropriately according to the required outcomes.

· New and replaced unit standards will be covered by CMR 0121 as part of the overall CMR tidy up.

Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022
