Competenz has completed the review of the unit standard listed above.

Date new version published                                                                 June 2018

Planned review date                                                                              December 2023

Summary

This unit was originally written for the one type of machine used for ground based extraction and contained terminology specific to that machine.  The use of other types of machine to carry out the same task is increasingly common resulting in confusion about the applicability of the unit standard.  Feedback from assessors and moderators initiated this review and changes were checked with industry by Competenz field staff.

Main changes

·      Terminology specific to the use of skidders was amended to allow the unit to be assessed using any machine now in use for ground based extraction e.g. forwarders.

·      Wording of some other evidence requirements was also updated to clarify their intent.

The last date for assessment of the superseded version of this Category B unit standard is December 2020
