Development of Recreation and Sport unit standards

 

Skills Active Aotearoa has completed the development of new Recreation and Sport unit standards.

Summary

 

The development of these unit standards was prompted by development of Programmes of Industry Training leading to:

 

Feedback from stakeholders was gathered through an open consultation process and used to guide the development of the industry training programmes for the qualifications above, and the development of the associated unit standards.

 

A technical advisory group was convened to review and confirm the content of the unit standards.

 

Two new unit standards were developed to meet industry needs for specialised swim and water safety teachers.
