Summary
The Tourism Māori unit standards were reviewed as part of their review cycle to ensure they are relevant and fit for purpose, and their outcomes are achievable, coherent, and consistent with valid assessment practices.
In addressing issues identified during the review process the whakaruruhau recommended that some standards were a better fit merged with other standards, and standards were expired and replaced.
Main changes
· A new standard was developed to replace unit standards 17783 and 17384 and these were designated as expiring.
· A new unit standard was developed to replace unit standards 17788 and 17789 and these two standards were designated as expiring.
· The title change of standard 17786 was changed to better reflect the standard’s outcome.
· Changes to purpose statements, guidance information, outcomes, performance criteria, and range statements were made to ensure clarity for users.
Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2019
