Summary
The unit standards were reviewed to align with the recently registered New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Building Services (Trade) (Level 4) [Ref: 2717] and to meet Competenz’ s ongoing unit standard review schedule.
The review was carried out in consultation with the Mechanical Building Services (formerly known as Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning) industry technical experts and the changes were endorsed by the industry technical group.
These unit standards will be moved to a new domain (Mechanical Building Services) when they are next reviewed.
Main changes
· Changes were made to unit standard titles, outcome statements, performance criteria, and range statements to clarify assessment requirements, remove duplication, and ensure alignment with current industry requirements. Unit standards were modified to align with the revised NZQA guidelines.
· The industry sector is now known as the Mechanical Building Services. This is reflected in the unit standards.
· Credit values were adjusted where necessary to reflect the time required to acquire the skills and knowledge.
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is 31 December 2023
