The Skills Organisation has completed the review and revision and rollover of the unit standards listed above.  The standards listed in bold above have been reviewed.  The other standards were revised and rolled over.

Summary

Following the review of qualifications in the Scaffolding sector, consultation with subject matter experts was held to review and revise unit standards that may be used in unit standard-based programmes leading to award of the New Zealand Scaffolding qualifications.  As the overarching credit values of the qualifications were reduced to better reflect the journey of learning, practice and assessment, the unit standards were updated also to reflect this change.

Main changes

• The planned review date of all standards was updated to December 2021, and the guidance notes amended to match other scaffolding standards.
• The credit value of standard 26592 was increased to recognise the workload in developing this critical skillset.  The title was also amended to refer to proprietary suspended scaffolding.
• Standard 26594 was made a prerequisite for standard 26593.
• The credit values of standards 26593 and 26594 were reduced to ensure the standards work well as a suite of standards, including acknowledging the learning and assessment involved in acquiring the prerequisite standards.

The last date for assessment of the most recent superseded version of Category B unit standards is December 2019
