Planned review date                                                                           December 2022

Summary

As a result of the Targeted Review of Qualifications process, Primary ITO has reviewed a number of unit standards to reflect the requirements of the outcomes listed in new qualifications.

Organisations who have an interest in the unit standards are OSPRI New Zealand Limited who manage the TBfree programme which aims to eradicate bovine TB from New Zealand, and VetEnt who employ TB testers.

Individuals in these organisations have had the opportunity to review the unit standards and offer feedback.  This consultation was carried out in a face-to-face meeting in June 2017, followed by discussion via email and phone to finalise the content details in November and December 2017.  All feedback was actioned where appropriate.

Main changes

·      Credits changed for unit standards 25613, 25617, 25619, 25620, 25621 and 25622.  As these units have had a cycle of delivery and assessment with minimal changes to content at this review, it was found that the increase credits better reflect the time taken to practice the skills, and be assessed.

·      Levels changed for unit standards 25619 and 25620 from Level 4 to Level 3. When compared to other units in the batch, their level of complexity is clearly aligned with Level 3.

·      Unit standard 25614 was set to expire without replacement as this activity is no longer carried out by industry.

·      Minor changes were made to all unit standard references and content to reflect current practices.

The Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2019

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2019
