Summary

As a result of the Targeted Review of Qualifications process, it became necessary for MITO to review a number of unit standards to better reflect the requirements of the outcomes listed in the new qualifications and to ensure they remain fit-for-purpose. Alongside industry, MITO has reviewed six existing standards and created five new standards and one replacement standard.

MITO was supported by the industry’s working group during this review.  Representation in the working group included subject matter experts from several New Zealand ports, industry and MITO representatives.  The standards were also circulated in the working group’s greater networks and all feedback was actioned where appropriate.
